Ok so here is what happened....I had 2 hdd's one of 100gb a Western Digital(caviarWD1000) and a 80gb Seagate(Barracuda).I left my computer one night runing ratdvd converting a movie but when i got up the computer was off.I thought it was the power supply but i changed it and it only tried to start(for one second) but didnt.I removed the hdd's then it turned on so i tried to put them again but when i connected the 80gb hdd(wich i had to just put data there) the computer just do the same as before. So i put the 100 gb disk wich is the system one partitioned in two 20 gigs for windows and the rest for data. The computer turned on but the windows didnt go up it was like there was no windows there only a blinking - there. Then i tried to repair with win xp cd but when win cd is loading files in the blue screen it stays there and an error telling the partmgr.sys is corrupted and big PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA.The HDD is recognized by bios but if i put it like secondary slave with another hdd or computher it doesnt show up in windows.Tried ultimate boot cd,Partition magic some other programs to no luck.If someone has a recomendation would be apreciated.Just want my files back :(

Try Partition Recovery ( http://www.partition-recovery.com/ ) This is a program with which you can salvage data files in case of a partition (-table)or disk error. Download the program (175KB) and copy it to a standard Windows 98 boot floppy disk.

Connect your hard drives as before the error, then boot from the W98 boot disk, run the program and hopefully it can correct the problem.
Partition Recovery is supposed to be able to fix partition (table) errors and (thus) make seemingly lost data available again.

I never had to resort to it luckily, but perhaps it can be of assistance to you, in this case.

Good luck !
