i never formatted my memory stick and i have stuff saved on it now that i dont want to lose, is it possible to copy these witout another memory stick and format my current stick?

Sure, just copy them to your computer's hard drive, format the stick, then drag the files (in their proper folders) onto the formatted stick from your computer.
