DVD burn error - Reset occurred

hello all,

I know I'm not the first one having this problem, but even tho I read the other posts, I can't seem to find a solution to mine. I'm trying to backup my comp for a full reformat as its getting a bit crowded with junk, but everytime I try to burn a data dvd, I will get burn process failed at around 15-19%. it didn't happen before. only had problems in the last day or so. did not install anything new lately.

I tried using both Nero 6 and 7 to no avail. I use maxell 8x dvd+r media (I bought 100 of these...:( ), it's the first time I've used this media so it might be the problem but I'm not sure. or could it be coming from my crappy old dvd-burner?
