1. Are you using your router or trying to break into you neighbour's/mcdonalds/the us president's hotspot?
2. Have you checked your DNS settings to be correct if you added them?
3. Did you get everything right? SSID, Encryption, Key?
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

If you're using the Wipeout Pure browser or some other hacked/Homebrew browser, set the DNS to 67.171.70.72, but if you're using the official web browser, just set it to automatic.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

Forget about the DNS Address 67.171.70.72, first off, even though I can't neccessarly think of a reasion why this wouldn't work on a v2.50. What would be the point of it? You should be useing the PSP's? built-in Browser!
As for the DNS setting just change that to reflect your Router's IP Address. BTW do you even have the DHCP Server on your Router turned on? If your SSID (which you should get automaticly from the Router!), and WEP Keys are in order, and your still having problems connecting. My first places I'd start looking at is the IP Address Range between the PSP? and your Router.
I know it's like Duh! But, if the IP Range between your PSP? and your Routher DO NOT MATCH!!! You're not going to ever be able to connect no matter what. It's like trying to call John, but you keep ringing Angies' House W(ho)TF is Angie?!?
If your still haveing problems I'd highly recomend you try to let the PSP? try to work it out for itself by simply useing the EASY Mode to configure your PSPs'? Network Settings. After which you then further edit it to your likeing...

You have a PSP with Firmwarte v2.50? Then you should already have a PSP Browser! There is no need for you to have to worry about, the Tenchi, Wipe Out, Fired Up or whatever. You should be able to locate this Browser under the Network / WWW on v2.0+.
Again so long as you have the DHCP Setting turned on, in your Router you should use the IP Adress 168.192.xxx.xxx for the DNS Adress on your PSP. Or just leave it as 0.0.0.0 either setting should work...

Ya do realize that having your WEP turned off isn't the brightest thing you can do, right? I can sympathize with you if you had forgotten what it may have been. But, unless you want to make some Neighbors Leech very, very happy. You'd best start to come up with a new WEP Key (64 or 128 Bit),. Or if your on Firmware v2.0+ perhaps a stonger WPA / WPA Shared Key??
Solong as you have matching SSID's and WEP or WPA Key(s), you shoudn't have any problems to connect...

Movies must be able to fit on a Memorystick so ya going to need a larger MS then the One S0NY Gave ya. if your going to want to watch anything more then Clips.
But to give you both a short answer. Videos' must be formated in the *.mp4 Video codec. So you'll need to have some kind of Video Transcoder like PSP Video 9 to convert your DivX, avi's, Quicktimes et-al.
Movies go here
-> MP_ROOT
|_>100MNV01
|_> Movies go here! Filename Syntax xxxANV01 (xxx=0-999)
