I use Nero burning rom 6. I have used DVD+ format without any problems. I started using DVD- discs and the Nero program does not seen to recognize this as a proper disc. Any reason why???

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.
You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

Dullboy ,
Am not sure if that would be very helpfull but u could give a try coz am having problems recognizing DVD-Rs as well ....
1- Unistall nero6 completely using Nero cleaning tool , u can get it by googling "nero's cleaning tools" WITH the quotes.
2- Install Nero 7 ...WITHOUT InCD packet , u can choose not to install it .
3- Update ur driver's firmware.
4- Last thing , thats a personal observation though , if Nero still fails to detect the DVD-R ...try to place some other blank DVD-R from ur box ...if it fails again u might like to eject and re-enter it many times - This used to work with me - its optional for u to try it.
I hope i helped
