Hey folks. I'm pretty new to burning DVD's. In an attempt to learn I thought I'd try something that I THOUGHT would be simple. I am simply trying to burn some pics (.jpg) and music files (mp3) from my HD to a DVD-R disc using Nero 7 Ultra Edition, just to back up the data and try to learn how this stuff works.

I launch Nero and select 'Create a Data DVD'. I have a completely new DVD-R disc in the DVD burner, but when I click 'Burn' button in Nero, I get the message "Not able to write disc-at-once to an open disc". What does this mean exactly?
I did notice on the 'Write Method' on the 'Burn' tab is grayed out and set to 'Disc-at-once', so it cannot be changed.

I could not find any clues in the Help files or on the Nero Support Web site.

Does the technology not quite work in the same way a data CD does... I thought you could just copy files to a DATA DVD disc and be able to explore/browse it in the same way one views the files contained on a data CD or hard drive through Windows Explorer.
