HI... I´ve just added some subtitles to a movie, and now I have all set to start burning, but the writting process fails. It says something like Focus or track error (my Nero is in spanish, so actually it says Error de focus o pista).

Im using a Memorex DVD-RW at 2x. I know it´s not the brand of media, cause i´ve used this disc several times. But not too much. 2 or 3 times, tops.

So, what can it be??

Let me post the log, and I´ll try to translate some of the messages in spanish.

Thanx.

Again, thanx. And please excuse my poor and pretty lame technical translation.

hi and welcome, oh and don't label your translation as lame or anything, looks good to me. and anyway, these logfiles are straightforward enough that whichever language they're in they can be decoded quite easily (well this one can anyway!).

there's some stuff to go on in the logfile you provided but some is missing, i need the first part after the section divider - You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

- just don't forget to NOT post your serial number(s) which are usually underneath that line and usually being with '1A21' or similar. So i need the missing bits from the section divider to the start of the section of log you already posted...

hi, i think this is my first Spanish Nero log, hope my answers make sense :)

Quote:
Versión de Nero: 6.3.1.12 (Nero Express)
- Nero's too old, latest 6.x version is 6.6.0.16, download "update package 1" from here - http://ww2.nero.com/enu/nero-up.php

- 512MB is what i consider the minimum for dvd work. you should get more memory, and for now you're gonna have to try hard to close down as much as you can to free up more memory
Quote:
Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
Last address to be written: 2288223 (508:29.48, 4469MB)
- 4469MB means you're burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space
Quote:
Error de focus o pista.
(Focus or track error)
- follow other suggestions and try a 'simulation burn' ie when you go to burn, untick 'burn' and tick 'simulation burn'. Nero will go thru the motions with a blank disc but not write to the disc and will append a log entry to your existing Nero log so you can paste that section here afterwards..
