i know it's outdated but it's been good to me so far. nec dvd rw nd1300a. i've logged at least 1000 burns with only about 10 coasters. now every time i try i get failed to write sectors 1004416-1004447 write error every time the same sectors. i use mainly shrink dvdd and any dvd. do you think it's time to replace it. any advise would be helpfull thanks.

Sounds like you've either worn it out or you need newer firmware.

As inexpensive as the newer units are, I'd replace it .. The newer units are faster, do the DL discs and record much better.
