Hello,

I downgraded my EU PSP to 1.5.
I tested a 100% hotspot connection.
But it failed to connect.
I used also the fire-up browser
With Firmware 2.0 it's no problem to connect to the hotspot.

So is it possible connecting to a hotspot with the firmware 1.5?

thanks
pete

Do you have your Network Settings saved in v1.50?
You do know that you'll have to reset these settings once you successfully manage to downgrade back to v1.50 right??

yes I make a new connection.
Then I use scanning and take the 100% hotspot.
Then I test the connection but it fails

But can you connect with an EU 1.5 PSP?

Is this soposed to be an 'Open Hotspot'? Or are you just tryung to be a naughty, naughty Wardiver? It sounds to me like you're haveing problems with either the WEP or WPA Key(s).

If you should in fact be useing WPA, which works fine with PSP Firmware v2.0+. You should know that WPA Encryption is not supported in anything under v2.0. So it's only going to be WEP 64 / 128, then.

Since the PSP v1.5x does not com with a Browser as such. You'll have to either use One of the In-Game Browsers in which you'll need to configure the DNS1: in your Network Settings on the PSP to point at a so called PSP-Portal. I happen to use the Tenchi Brwoser as it's configured to land directly on google.com. The only thing that you might wich to know about Tenchi lies in the 'Select' Button.

No matter which Browser you'll eventually choose. You'll only be able to view *.jpg's & *.png's on you PSP. As *.bmp's, *.gif's & *.tif's didn't come till v2.0.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is you really can't expect to surff the Web in Firmware 1.50 which is also alot slower then v2.0 aswell.

But, if on the off chance that you are useing WPA instead of WEP in you confuguration. You should change it to only use (or broadcast), WEP.
