Ok, There are like more than 100 threads on unlocking your Nokia 6680. Here is the information that you need to know:
Unlocking a nokia 6680 that is locked to 3g network is Not Possible at the moment. The best thing you can do if your nokia 6680 is locked to network 3 is to contact your network provider and issue a sim rstriction code. I have never tried it but i have heard people do it sometimes.
If your Nokia 6680 is locked to Vodaphone, there is a solution. You can either call vodaphone, or go to www.lockfree.com. they charge 2.95 pounds i think and they provide you with a code and easy step to step instruction.
If you're phone is locked to Orange, www.lockfree.com would do it, also there is a Unlocking software advertised on ebay for like $6 that should do it. Type in "Nokia Unlocker" at the search bar or "nokia bonus unlocker". the unlocking software comes with a cd full of ringtones and clips and stuff too.

Just attempted to unlock my mom's Nokia 6680 using www.lockfree.com (had to pay for the service!) -- I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED with their service!!!
After you pay you get two lines of possible unlocking code (codes 1 and 7 ONLY!) and some simple instructions.
I attempted to unlock the 6680 using the codes provided - didn't work.
I also attempted the same with another SIM IN the phone (previously when unlocking my 6230i: unlocking ONLY worked, after some attempts without SIM, when another SIM - other than that of the original provider - was inserted)
Unfortunately they don't provide any possibility for support or a way to contact them in case it does not work !
My advise is not to use them - you spend money and u get codes which don't work AND u 'spend' all your unlocking 'turns' on the phone!

You could probably get them for false advertising. They advertised that they are capable of unlocking this phone! Shit that sucks, THanks for letting me know i will advise other people about this...
I have 2 unlocking softwares at the present, if u need help unlocking a phone (not a 6680 or any n series) i can help you, just need your imei code and network provider and country, would help alot if you told me if it is a dct2 or dct3 or dct4 or dct5.

Thanx for the offer. I have a 6680 (Orange UK)- so if u know of any way to unlock it - I would be happy to hear about it.
As to the: "dct2 or dct3 or dct4 or dct5" _ am not sure which is mine, not actually what it really means.

well unfortunately, in most cable shops I have been to they said that there is no unlock yet for the 6680, which is why I had such great hopes from the American Lockfree guys, in the first place. I would be happy if you know anything contrary to that.

Hi, For the shop unlocking thing, i know many ebay sellers who say that if u add an extra 10 pounds they woudl unlock it before they ship it to you, wonder how they do that, probably use some kind of griffin cables. most phones are dct(1,2,3,4,or 5) but other phones like the 6680 and the 6630 are bb5 phones, when bb5 unlocking software comes out everybody would be happy. If u go to www.discount-unlock.com they say they can unlock the Nokia 6680 but you have to take it to a certian shop(If you're in the UK, there is a specific one in london). Anyways good luck with the unlocking and if i get any new news about unlocking bb5 phones i will let you know ASAP. thanks

Hi, I Can unlock most NOkia Phones, I have explained earlier in the begining of this thread everything about the NOkia 6680. Please dont come up to me asking to unlock your NOkia 6680.(They are not dct models, they are bb5, and there is no bb5 code geberator out yet, when there is one out, i would be more than happy to give you an unlocking code)
All what i need is you Phone model, IMEI code (found by pressing *#06#), The name of the network that the phone is locked to(example: Cingular), and the country that the network is at(example: USA).
If you want a code quickly, generate it yourself at http://www.trycktill.com/eng/unlock_swe.asp (For European Users) and http://www.peters1.dk/webtools/nokia/nokiaonline.php?sprog=en (For USA Users)
Also, Double check your IMEI code that you will list on the forum, Please remove the slashes and spaces (This helps us copy and paste the number to the code generator)I will only help you if you do this simple thing.If I give you codes, please let me know how you did, unlocking your Nokia cell phone.
Feedback is important, to know I am giving correct info to the forum.
Instructions for Unlocking your Phone: be sure to enter a sim in your Phone, not the same as the Phone is locked to, the Phone will ask for the code, enter code, no spaces,all content, to get P press + twice, to get W press + three times

No its not possible, Please ready the first thing i wrote in the thread.there is no code calculator for bb5 phones. You can call your network provider (3) and ask them for a unlocking code, that might help.

So what do you think you were doing when you made the first quote.
You give some good advise with your first statement on this thread, then mix all up with bad advise. It just makes for a confused forum.

Ok fine, no more advice, but at www.lockfree.com it was advertised that they would unlock a nokia 6680, so i decided to put it here so that it might help, didnt mean to hurt any body.and after he told me that lockfree.com is terrible i said: you can probably get them for false advertising. i said that because they were supposed to unlock it and they advertised that they would unlock it!

i just bought a new 6680 from the uk on ebay ..n its on the orange network right now, and the contract/plan im on right now is with rogers at&t and need some assistance as to how i'd go about unlocking the phone so that i don't get the "sim card invalid" error whenever i put in my rogers sim card..so if anyone can get back to me asap that'd be tight n appreciated muchly..my email is elderado_@hotmail.com or if u have msn messenger add me fr0st@madeniggaz.net..the phones on the orange network but i need it to accept my rogers at&t sim card and im in canada, if u can help a brother out then just get at me via email/msn n i'll get u the uemi/serial # for the phone..thx in advance

A bit of updated news regarding 3s locking of the bb5 handsets and charging a fortune to unlock them before a contract has ended
I used to work for nokia and I have a 6630 so after being given the run around by 3 customer support at their indian call centre, I decided to pass the phone over to nokia tech support (next desk away from mine) and they told me the following
Its not possible to unlock the phone yet but its illegal for 3 to lock the phone without giving you the facility to unlock it either. Its not sanctioned by nokia and as far as they are concerned its illegal for them to lock the handset without offering to unlock it also when requested
Now 3 customer services say contrary things - sometimes they say its not possible to unlock it, and other times they state they will unlock it but for £150 fee
Nokia tech supports stance on this is that 3 are not allowed to do this and even if you are on contract, you have actually bought that phone, which does not operate to a satisfactory level as its not possible to put other sim cards in it when requested
Thats it really, try telling 3 customer services that their actions are illegal and try to get them to waive the fee that way...
