I purchased a psp off ebay recently. The seller told me it was originally v.1.5 but, he upgraded it to v.2.0 to play GTA:LCS. When I got the psp, I was toying around with it.

I hit Reset to Defaults, and messed around with all the features. I tested Network Update, and it told me to add a connection. (I didn't go through with the update since I do not have wireless connection at my dorm.)

I then went over to games, and clicked on PSP Update v. 2.00 and received the message. "The system software on your PSP system is v. 2.50 There is no need to update."

I could have sworn it was 2.0 when I started.

I heard that if you upgrade to 2.5, its impossible to downgrade. Am I fucked? Or is there any possible way to downgrade?

Ok, since I am just repeating the same problem that a lot of people are having, let me rephrase this.

Why is it so difficult to downgrade the firmware on a psp?
