PSP England vs USA

I want to buy a PSP for my Nephew in England. What are the Pros-Cons of buying a USA version versus the UK version. Will UK games work on the unit? Is the power transormer compatible with 110 and 240v with the use of an adapter?
I've had bad luck buying electronics at Christmas time in the UK since I have to use the net. It also is a lot cheaper in the USA due to the exchange rate.
I would appriciate the help.

I do not know of a difference between USA and UK systems. I beleive the older firmware versions have different Regions. Like UK plays Region 2 (PAL / JAP movies) whereas US plays Region 1. (NTSC movies.)

I beleive Firmware v.2.5 added a program called "Region Free Player" which should allow you to play all movies on the PSP.

Also, there should not be any problem with Region for games. The PSP supposively can play all regions of games with 0 problems.

About the power adapter. The power adapter is a two part peice. One part which is the charger, listed on the cover of it, it says "INPUT : 100V-240V" So, it seems to suppose UK power. I think you'll need to find the UK part of the cable though.

Hope that helps. I'm a one day old owner of a psp, so I'm a tad newbish still. :)
