I'm trying to find out if I have the latest firmware for this burner, but everywhere I look nobody's heard of a DW-U18A (not even Sony). I took it out of the computer case to verify the model name; and sure enough it's a DW-U18A. The drive is about 1 year old.

Anybody know anything about this burner; and more specifically what the current firmware is and where to get it?

Some Sony OEMs were put out by Matshita, it may be one of theirs. Just done some digging around Matshita and couldnt find yours, what brand of computer did it come with. OK I have located it, it is a sony as you said try this link http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces
