Did you use some sort of conversion Program ohhh let's say PSP Video 9? to convert your DVD into a *.mp4? As between that and the H.264 Video codec that's all your PSP can handle. As for the latter you'll also have to have Firmware v2.0 installed.

Hey you did a mistake...

The video folder in root is MP_ROOT, correct! But in this folder, the sub folder should be renamed as 100MNV01 (for mp4 videos only) and the video files in the sub folder should be named as M4VM1001 (thumbnails, too!)

Yes I can use Videos on v1.5 just fine. So long as I use the proper converter to actaully be able to view it on the PSP?.

If I was not clear before. Then I try to explain it better for you now.
You can not watch native DVD, *.wmp, *.AVI, DivX or QuickTime on the PSP?.
If you wish to be able to view such File(s), you will have to convert them into a Format the PSP? can understand. The PSP? can only work with MPEG4 and H.264 Video.

Problem is H.264 is only avalible to those who have Firmware v2.0 or higher installed. So that only leaves you with MPEG4 (i.e. *.Mp4).

So you will need to find a Program that can take a *.AVI (or DVD), File and convert it. A lot of People like PSP Video 9, I haven't tryed it yet myself as I had a demo version of YourPSPtoo (or something along that line.), but PSP Video 9 is Freeware. So you sould probably give it a shot...
