Hi all!
Here lately the DVD?s are getting me down!!!
I went from creating over 150 successful copies to a bunch of copies that are freezing.
I sure could use a helping hand at this point in time.
I know that my 2 burners are not the best for burning DVD?s but I cant help that at this time.
The odd thing is that my Laptop is also producing copies that freeze.

Burner is Sony 710 & Sony 530 Media: Taio Yuden
Software: have tried everything
OS: WinXP SP2
I?m well aware of the settings to burn successful copies I have set up other PC?s that work just fine with any Software or Media.
Also CRC checking most of the time tells me OK but disk still freezes???
Biggest difference between my PC?s and Others is that I?m running P4 HT and others run P3.

Hope someone can point me in the rite direction.
Thanks!!

How fast are you burning and with what program? Burning at slower speeds often helps.

If you're using Nero, please provide the last section of your burn log (called NeroHistory) that begins with your name and serial number 1A.... deleting both before posting. The path is: Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory.

Also provide the firmware versions for the burners if you know them. You can use DVD Decrypter, Nero, or DVD Identifier to get 'em if you need to.

Rally1969, post the Nero log. Something may have changed in the system configuration that is hacking the burn. I would also try a different brand of media. It's possible that the media and burner are hating one another for whatever reason right now.

Are they freezing in PC drives or a standalone player or both?

a few things you can try...

use a different brand of media all though Taiyo Yuden is tops try Verbatim or Ritek

burn at 4x max. (what speed are you burning at)

do not run any other programs while burning

make sure your system is clean as in a disc cleanup and defragging you system often.

try a different burner at a freinds house a see if you have the same problem

try uninstalling and reinstalling the burning programs or even try a different program all together
