Really just depends on the size of the iso. Rip to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter and see how big it is. If it's over 4.38GB's you may need to rebuild, if not try a straight burn.

It's a new game, so I doubt a lot of people have backed it up. Just try for yourself and find out. This is largely a rhetorical question.

Yeah wasn't trying to give you a hard time, it's just you know better than anybody if you can back game X up. Why trust some idiot who doesn't know what they're doing for the info?

What type of media are you using and at what speed did you burn it?

You might want to try better media, eg Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony. Also, burning at a different speed might help. Try burning it at half the speed (if the dvd is 8X, burn at 4X).

I actually downloaded the PAL version because I couldn't find an active NTSC torrent that would give me decent speeds. I burned it at 2x on Ritek DVD-R's. It works fine. I have an NTSC PS2, but I have a Matrix Infinity which forces video mode, so you can't even tell it's the PAL version. Are you using Swap Magic or a modchip to boot it? Btw, Matrix DVD-R's are horrible.

Most likely.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.

i just brought this bttt in another thread... but the more traffic the better.
i am also having problems with this game. dl'd two PAL versions, then patched, with a y fix, and they wont work. using sm 3.6/slidecard
loads the opening picture then nada.
but the unpatched games work fine... i just cant see them
verbatim, Nero, slow burn etc.... same thing that seems to work for everything else.
should i try burning with alcohol instead

Does your network adapter fuction properly with other games. I doubt it's a coincidence that it works perfectly except when the Network Adapter is plugged in.

10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. Games over 4.38GB's will need rebuilt. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515 With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool):
Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):
http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
Instructions to Gnie's Tool ExPERT:
From Anthony 05:
Download it and then follow these instrcutions and it will work.
1. select Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins list.
2. Select the iso.
3. Click extract LBA
4. Click extract file
5. Click rebuild file
6. Click rebuild lba.
Make sure you do it in that order.
This worked for me when every other way failed.
It is very easy to do so even the noobies should be able to do it.
Keep in mind im backing up the PAL version, but if your having trouble backing up with NTSC then i dont see a problem trying.
Good luck.
