i have installed a new motherboard a p4s800d-x Asus and everytime i wanna start my computer it shows me an error its say something about my harddisk i dont understand ..i just wanna know if i have to do something with the BIOS or what can someone please tell me...thenx

the error message is "Primary Master Harddisk Error Press F1 To Resume" but is weard cuz when i restart it again dan the error message dont show....

reseat the data cable ends & power cable to the drive. is the data cable a 40wire 40pin or 80wire 40pin? is the drive set as master or cable select & who makes the drive??

yes the drive is set as master and it is an 40wire 40 pin i dont know what the problem is maybe is the cabel damage or something do i have to buy a new one o hope not....lol

try switching data cables between the hd & rom drives if on seperate cables.

Is this an older hd? If so, it may be failing. Sounds like the drive is not spinning up to speed before the PC posts. By the time you reset the pc, the drive is at speed. You can get software to do a S.M.A.R.T. test on the drive (if it is supported), of enable the S.M.A.R.T. detection in bios.

DoubleDwn thenx for ur help 2 man i think i will try that first and than i switch the data cables like DDP say....
