I am having all sorts of problems burning Cd's and Dvd's. I keep getting errors when I burn using NERO,and I know my burner is fine, I just cant work out what the problem might be. It got so frustrating that I formatted my computer, and i was then able to burn fine for several days. I am now getting the same problems as I did before. I have tried different media, the latest was simply to try a rewritable disc out of desperation. Here is the latest log of my burn error:

Lets see...
Nero is up to 6.6.0.18 now.

512mb is the recommended smallest memory size for DVD ripping, so if your going to try with 255mb, you need to shut down everything you can to free up more memory.

ouch! terrible media. When you said you tried different media, try different good media :)

and trying to burn crap media at 8x is asking for it. You might salvage this at 4x, but i wouldn't try on CMC brand. I've had it fail at 1x, so slowing down doesn't always help.

another classic CMC error footprint.
Your DMA's are on, your firmware looks up to date. Try updating Nero, use better media, and slow your burns down. Maybe try to get another stick of memory added if you can also.
Good Luck

I think this whole time the problem has been my virus protection program! I closed it (AVG) and tried to burn and everything worked fine even with the same media.

hmmm so that did it ,great

i would still consider strongly using better blank media ,long term its well worth it
