I got azureas and my uplkoad is at 50k no matter what.

I see it around 48-52 kbs all the time in that range...

But when I upload to filefront,megaupload,rapidshare...I got an awesome 200-300 kbps.

My downloads are always at about 200-240 when using azureas but when using filefront or downloading porn I can go as high as 550...

I did the speakeasy test and the results are as follows

d/l - 230kbps
u/l - 103kbps (i am uploading at 50k right now so that is why it is at 103. I am uploading when Im posting this on azureas.

no uploads going on reults with speakeasy.

d/l - 2647kbps I got a 3mb line btw
u/l - 393 kbps

I see the transfer rate...at the bottom at 50 kbps But why is it it only is liek that when I use azureas not when I am uploading to filefront,etc.

I am behind a router fully configured also.

Ok, most of the time, the numbers you get back are in BITS not BYTES (kb vs KB).

So, taking your upload of 393, lets work out the byte speed;

393 * 1024 = 402432 bits (b)
402432 / 8 = 50304 bytes (B)
50304 / 1024 = 49.125 kilobytes (KB)

Just on the upload figure you gave me and the calculation that is the max upload speed in kiloBYTES that your line is capable of - based on that figure.

So it looks like Azureus is reporting the correct speed (in KB). Perhaps the other services are in bits?

Another possibility (IMO unlikely, as it occurs more commonly on download not upload bandwidth), is that the other services (filefront,megaupload,rapidshare) might be using multiple upload streams between your computer and their servers - something akin to how download managers work - but again, I feel this is unlikely.

So yeah, check the rate you've been given - whether its in bytes(B) or bits(b)

Just to drive it home;
e.g. 450 kbps = 450 kilobits per second
450 KBps = 450 kilobytes per second

8 bits in a byte
200 bits = 25 bytes
1024 bits/bytes in a kilobye
2048 b/B = 2 kb/KB

You know that rare phenonomon when after hours and hours and hours of troubleshooting, things just just magically work and you have no idea why? Just gotta love it! ;-)

thanks...I dont know why filefront and megaupload are like that but whatever. I guess I can upload 1 file at a time to get it so my ratio isnt all scrwed over.
