my wife bought me a dell inspiron 9200 with intel centrino mobile tech 2GHz/400MHz FSB. newer 9300 is 533 MHz FSB. I have xp home edition with sp2 and windows movie maker is on my machine but when i hit properties, it doesn't appear to be windows movie maker 2.1. I noticed that requirements for windows movie maker 2.1 update include 600MHz processor. am i in trouble as far as video editing capability etc.is concerned.because i have 400 MHz FSB? what will i not be able to do? i haven't tried to do any capturing or editing but am now very concerned that my computer won't be up to the task.

you have a 2ghz cpu while the program wants at least 600mhz which you exceed by about 3 time. the fsb on the 600mhz cpu is either 100 or 133mhz compared to the 2ghz which is 400mhz.

that computer should be more than capable of that 600mhz requirement. The 400mhz you see is for the FSB (front side bus). the clock speed is the number you should be concerned with. you said that was 2ghz (which converts to 2000mhz). just a little confusing since the FSB is in mhz and the clock speed is in ghz. hope this helped clear it up. you should be more than set to do some video work on that computer.
