Hi, I've already posted this before but didn't get any reply. Please if anyone could help me out here, I would appreciate a lot. Thanks !!

I've searched a lot in the users guide etc. to find an answer to the questions I have but haven't had any luck. Please explain in detail.

When copying a cd with Nero burning rom 6, in the "Read Options" tab, what happens if I copy a cd with the "Ignore read errors" options UNCHECKED for both "Data tracks" and "Audio tracks". and what happens if I copy a cd with them CHECKED. Please explain in detail the difference.

Also what do "Write defect sectors" and "Read sectors in Raw mode" options for "data tracks" do.
Similarly what does "Read indexes of audio data" option for "Audio tracks" do.
Also what is the "Read Media Catalog Number ISRC (slower)" option and the "Use jitter correction" option do.

If I copy a cd using Nero Express, there are no such options, so how is Nero Express supposed to behave while copying a cd in reference to these above options??
Please help. Thankyou

that is alot of explaining.want me to copy the cds for you too...im just kidding.but i can help you with some of your questions.

first of all the ignore read error option is when you have read errors occur you get warnings.so by selecting to ignore read errors you wont get those warnings that a read error occured.it could be lttle read errors that still enable you to copy whatever you are copying.if it is a major error the read process will stop altogether.but with music and streaming video you dont want read errors so you want to be aware of them.unlike plain data, video and audio can be affected by read errors when copied to the hd.i would not select ignore read errors.

as for the others i have no explaination.but i can tell you that Nero burning rom is a hands on program(expert) while Nero express is a simple(novice) program and everything is setup for you already.

Thanx sui-cyco, U did help a lot :) ... so it seems that cds should be copied with the "Ignore Read Errors" UNCHECKED for both "Data tracks" and "Audio tracks". Hummm........ O.K.

But the other options are still unexplained :(. Anyone else have any comments ????

i dont think any of those options are really that important except maybe the ignore read errors.most of them are for the read process.that is when you copy to the hd.so you can experiment with them before you burn to the disc.

i think the write defect sectors is so someone cant make a copy of your copy.it will write bad sectors to your copy so when someone sticks your copy into a comp it wont be able to read but still will play fine in a cd player.leave it unchecked would be a good idea.

I tried the write defect sectors option and copied a cd using that, but I was able to copy the newly made cd too..... so I guess that option does something else :( .....
