wil the UMD eventually be hacked and cracked so that we can put our own stuff on it>?
liek 1.8 gigs of music and stuff like that ...

Probably not because the UMDs are like -r and +r discs; once you record on it, you can't record over it or delete whats on it. You probably couldn't burn anything onto it because neither the computer or the PSP has the ability to write on it, even if you somehow broke into a Sony plant and stole and empty one.
Simply put, no.
Just get the Datel 4GB hard drive (if you have the money), then you'll also have x2 the battery power.
It's Festivus for the rest of us!

Why do people think its so bulky? It's no more than 1/2 an inch wider and 1 pound heavier because of the Datel 4GB HD.

word up, it looks like the psp has another psp hanging off of it. is it really worth it? wont it take up a lil 2 much space? i mean, my pockets are big, just iono if dere dat big

it gives the PSP an eneaven shape , it does not match with the ceramic white PSP. the PSP has really messed things up with the PSP's meory - excuse my french...
look at the mini ipod thing, it can hole up to 6 darn gigs and have u seen the size and weight of it ? DAYM - snaping the that i pod in half would be more easier than sanpiing a pencil , thats how thin it is. the PSP has lost agianst the i pod even though the datel pack was ment to give it a chance at competing.
the datle pack costs a darn bomb too, dependent kids havent got money to shower on accesories for the PSP .
another thing is the headphones, they are crap. have u herd how loud they are ! dAM! u put the the PSP to the loudest and u can still hear mans talk around u , how daft..
the PSP needs memory, kos face it if u aint got memory then ur PSP is prety much worthless. SONY has been very unfair to its customers. microsft's Xbox give u a bloody 8 gig hardrive built in where as if it was sony's decision they would take out the hardrive and sell it spepratly.

The HDD (MicroDrive?), Thingy is preaty cool. Save the fact that a lot of People are complaining about the 'Bottelnecking' (i.e. Lagging), that takes place when you try playing back High Quality mP3's (i.e. 320kb/s),. Or when you try to watch a 'Clip' or gosh try to run those naughty *.iso's with it.
Given that I think a 2Gib MemeryStick? would be better. Hopefully Datel can find a solution to this problem soon...
