while capturing vhs video i set the capture device, avermedia pci, to 740 by 480 then under the output video to mpeg2 at 352 by 480. i then capture the video to my hard drive. when i burn it to dvd i noticed i can set the quality setting from automatic to long play. this makes the file bigger, a little over three gig when i change it from automatic, but this takes 2 hours plus to transcode, if i leave quality at automatic setting it takes 20 minutes to transcode and burn. am i wasting my time or should this improve quality? i have compared both types and they look similiar?
