Hey all my computer is messed up ive got a dell dimension 4100,old, but whenever i start my computer my desktop is blue and in the middle it says i hav a spyware infection

also whenever i start my comp i hav to shut my internet off because if i leave it on it takes literally 2 hours to start up

plzz sum1 help me

Did this happen recently? If if so try a system restore, always works for me.

1.Click Start.
2.Point to All Programs.
3.Point to Accessories.
4.Point to System Tools.
5.Click System Restore.
6.Follow the instructions on the wizard.
7.Pick a date when everything was working fine

ddp's guide to killing spyware is great.The only thing I would add to it is this link to another piece of software which ozzy214 told me about. Worked great for me.

Also make sure that any spyware/adware/virus tools you use also sweep your system restore files otherwise any bugs may not be fully detected and deleted. Also might want to add Webroot Spy Sweeper to the list as well. Look for the free scan link on the right.

Also once all these files are downloaded and updated make sure you are not online when you scan.
