aHi,
I am between a newbie and advanced user so I wanted to get some advanced help and hope to move up :)
I was shown to use decrypter to rip the dvd to the hard drive and then shrink to reauthor it.
I know that decrypter is not being updated anymore and hard to even find now, so what are people moving to?
I also know shrink rips off encryption but why do so many people use both programs together?
What is the easiest way to rip a movie? With shrink is reauthoring it worth the work? I mean do you really notice a pic difference?
I am trying to find the easiest solution to use, get the best quality? Can you strip out the fbi warning and keep the menu for scene's but remove the trailers and subtitles?
What is a good compression ratio for quality?
What is better anydvd or dvdfab if you are going to buy one?
I was told not to allow auto updates for anydvd due to some issues sometimes, can you download just the updates and install them or do you have to let the autoupdate work? I want to get the latest encryption removal stuff so I don't run into issues like I notice people have with certain movies? I don't have alot of money to spend though but I want a good solution.
Does shrink work on all encryptions? I guess my big confusion is why people use multiple programs if one does the job?
I use to use nero to burn the movie to dvd, is that good or bad? WHat is better? Anydvd rips off the encryption but what does clonedvd do?

really the best a easiest program to use is CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD

and YES AnyDVD is way better than dvdfab

auto updates have never been a problem for me

no shrink WONT work on newer movies by its self

CloneDVD 2 does the encoding and burning so thats really the only program you need CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD running in the background to remove the encryption

remember to use good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4x ,here a guide to use the programs its very easy
