Seems like you posted all of your logs, only 1 is needed.
Quote:
Recorder: <HP DVD Writer 740b> Version: DC24 - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.15
YOur Nero is out of date. Current version is 6.6.0.18. I can't seem to find your Burner's firmware.
Quote:
DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 6Y160P0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : JLMS DVD-ROM XJ-HD166 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : HP DVD Writer 740b atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off
YOur DMA is off, here is a guide written by alkohol:

((To enable DMA back ON by "uninstalling" it's driver ?for Win XP users?))

A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER", left click on "PROPERTIES"
B) left click on "HARDWARE", left click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
C) left click on + sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives
D) double left click on your DVD burner or your dvd-rom drive
E) left click on "DRIVER", left click on "UNINSTALL", you will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system", just click "OK", now "SHUTDOWN" or "restart" your computer
F) once you restart your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner?s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!!

NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "uninstall" it from the ?IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers?

(A) left click on + sign of "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers"
(B) double left click on either Secondary or Primary IDE Channel (burner's driver are usually "Secondary Channel")
(C) click on "DRIVER", "UNINSTALL", "OK" and then "shutdown" or "restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!!
***NOTE: you have to know where your "DVD Burner" or "DVD-ROM drive" is installed to what Channel). Usually it's the "Secondary IDE Channel" because your "C: drive or Hard Drive" would be the main aka Primary IDE Channel already. If you're not sure, then you need to check it with "Nero Toolkit" first before you "uninstall" any of them. Once you verify with Nero Toolkit, then you can continue with the above steps.

Your drive doesn't recognize the media which makes me think your f/w is out of date.

This doesn't make sense to me? Are you burning 2 things at once? And if so do you realize that one of it is a CD you are trying to burn on? So are you burning a CD or a DVD or Both?

Try to DL that thing again. And jsut so you know it's not an INCD remover. It's a Nero remover, you use it to remove Nero, then you reinstall Nero but w/o INCD this time.

YOu just install it like you normally would exept this time you just choose to not install it. You get options during the installation, one of those options are what you want installed.

hi (again). 'fraid i've requested this thread be closed as you've multiposted it here too - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/259562#1460964

your problem(s) with your Nero setup are being answered there and the guys (and myself) can get you up and burning in no time, but pls don't raise numerous threads for the same problem. it's against forum rules and incredibly frustrating for those who want to help you as we gotta sift thru numerous different threads
