After trying everything suggested to me I unfortunatly am still stuck. Everyone has been great I had alot of problems with Nero before I found this forum and I am just this step away and it won't go ON.

Does anyone have any other suggestions because this one Suggestion works for everyone but me?

With your burner being hp if you are runing intel aplication excelerator uninstall it. Hp burners dont seem to play well with it. That is the only thing left I can think of.

One more suggestion is to try to keep your posts about same issue in same thread. I nearly missed this new one.

i have the same issue....but in my vase its nvidia ide drivers. No matter what proggy I use...they all say Im not in dma mode, but when I go to device manager all channels are enabled dma. So if ya using nvidia drivers I wouldnt worry bout it. I really have no ill effectsother than its annoying when Nero log says dma aint enabled, but yet ZI burn fine..lol.!

I'm the same as ozzy. My Nero logs say all DMA is off, but according to IDE/ATAPI controllers. DMA is enabled!

hi (again). 'fraid i've requested this thread be closed as you've multiposted it here too - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/259562#1460964

your problem(s) with your Nero setup are being answered there and the guys (and myself) can get you up and burning in no time, but pls don't raise numerous threads for the same problem. it's against forum rules and incredibly frustrating for those who want to help you as we gotta sift thru numerous different threads

i hear you and as i keep explaining, the reason you're not sorted is (certainly where i'm concerned) each time i go to search out your thread to help out i can't work out where the problem is because you've spawned the problem over even more threads. we could have got you up and sorted by now if we didn't have to chase tails trying to find out what's left to fix for you. i'm not writing this to get at you but for me to help you you have to help me and that means to meet me in the middle and follow my advice :)

ps you don't need to waste blank discs you just use 'simulation burn'. when you go to hit 'burn', instead tick 'simulation burn' and untick 'burn', then Nero will go thru the motions with a blank disc but won't write to the disc, but will generate a new section of logfile for you or us to check

... the idea here is to not make you waste discs/money..

I am having same problem (i think) as amosco13. I uninstall the drivers and it still says for the secondary driver that the current transfer mode is PIO. I have Roxio, and Nero on my system. I heard that could be the problem. Aslo, i have a Nero recode log, I don't see anywhere on the log where is days dma is on or off. Looking for a little help.

Ahh pulsar. Then the nividia drivers must be the culprit as to why Nero and every other proggy says dma aint enabled. Hmm...so I wonder if there is a proggy that can read it right?

As far as the other guy goes. This is the best I can say. If winsucks detects errors it will automatically slow the rom down and most of the time it will default the rom to pio mode. Since ya have a hp you are using the microsoft default ide drivers not like me using nvidia ide drivers.

So the best I can say is go to device manager and uninstall each ide channel and reboot. Windows will reinstall the ide channel and make the rom in dma mode. If it reverts back to pio then you going to have get better media. Bad media cause errors and windows will revert the rom to pio to slow it down to avoid the erros. Maybe Im wrong...but this is what I know....good luck to ya!
