Ok dude, i have fixed my Xbox 360 to allow me to play them and i used to have the same error message. Stupid Microsoft dont know how to fix their own problems in their systems. But neways follow these guidelines, its what i did to fix min.
1. Turn on your Xbox 360 by hitting the eject button to get to the Xbox 360 Dashboard. After this, hit right until you get to the System tab.
2. Go down to Initial Setup now. Click, Yes, run setup.
3. Select your language. Next go to Don't Select A Profile.
4. At the next screen that pops up, select Creat and offline profile.
5. when the new window pops up Put in a different name then your Xbox Live gamertag.
6. Choose ne gamer picture that you would like now.
7. It should Pop Up at the bottom center of your screen, (Your name here) Online.
8. Go to Family Settings. Now Console Settings.
9. Once in Console Settings, go to Game ratings and set it to Allow All Games.
10. Once you have did this go down to DVD Movie Ratings and set this option to allow all DVD Movies.
11. Now Click ACCESS TO XBOX LIVE. Set this option to Allowed.
12.Now Xbox Live Membership Creation. Also set this option to allowed. After this option, go down to done.
13. Now go down to Xbox Live Controls. Once you click this, Select your Xbox Live Profile you have already created. Once you've clicked it it should say signing in.
14. now put in the password you provided with the email that it is under that you used when you migrated your account and click sign in.
15. Now Click ONLINE GAMEPLAY. Click Xbox 360 Online games and make sure it is set to Allowed. Then click Original Xbox Online games and make sure it is on allowed.
16. Now go to Privacy and Friends and set everything up the way you want it under that selection. But make sure none of it is on BLOCKED.
17. Finaly, go to content. Now select Member Content and select ALLOWED. Then go back to DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT and also select ALLOWED.
18. Hit B a few times to go back and it should say something like, WARNING.......Changes you have made will take efftect the next time you sign into Xbox Live. Click Ok. Go all the way back, and put in a game and go to CLOSE TRAY. Then Play online in HALO 2.
Add Me on Xbox Live under sturm dragonfir and let me know if it worked or post it on here to let me know that this works for everyone. Ill get back to you and try to find other ways if it does not work. Add Me!!

Silver accounts get GOLD status on SELECT weekends. However if you buy a premium system it comes with a 30 day GOLD trial.
Silver is always on and everyone has it, but you can only download stuff with it. To play games online you need GOLD.

You have to plug something into the ethernet port on the back of the 360, whether that's a cat5 of wireless adapter is up to you.
If you have Xbox Live, you get Xbox Gold. plain and simple. Just migrate the subscription.
