Im a little confused on what you want to make a backup of. Is it a dvd or software for your BMW? If so trying using Nero or if it is encrypted DVDecrypter.

I'm moving this to the DVD For Advanced Users forum. I've seen a few threads about backing up similar (ie sat nav) discs and they seem to be a real PITA.
