Most people use Microsoft's Windows and have never tried thinking Linux it's too hard that's were Live Linux comes into play it's a perfect start for us beginners, Live Linux allows a user to boot directly for a CD (sometime even from Floppy or a USB Pen) without the need of a format (since it normally runs from your RAM) so this is a perfect even if it's just to mess around and get a fell to what Linux involves it's just a matter of burning it to a CD popping it in the drive and hey presto you have Linux while Windows is sleeping on your hdd ;)

Intel Compatible, Some work for AMD systems but not sure how many check each site for more info, i know there's more but this was only what i could find :)

just tried out Knoppix 4.0.2 as the last one i'd tried was 3.4

also got GameKnoppix 4.0.2-0.3 (2.8GB) but it doesn't work on my laptop, will try that when i get home..

i know this isn't strictly 'Live Linux', just installing Mandriva Linux 2006 (AMD 64 bit version)..

i'll be frequenting these Linux forums as much as i can...

hey guys ,

im fairly new to linux but ive been using UBUNTU 5.10 linux for human beings for a few wks .

Ive found it very easy to use especially 4 newbies , also the UBUNTU website sends you 5 copies of both the install and live cd , so if you order do what i did share with everyone and make linux bigger ! and boycott money grabbing M$ well thats my opinon

@Daniel_G Thank you for the offer really appreciate that :) but am still learning so i don't really no much, still learning from that ebook you sent me :D

@mlinuxko/trock0002 Thanks for the links but i wanted this thread to be the place you can find a direct link to the live Cd's not a thread you have to click a link to click another link :) (I mean that in a very mellow way plz don't take it the wrong way) If you guys want to pick some out that's not in here and post them that would be great.
