I recently got an updated version of Nero (legally) and am having problems with the dvd creator within nerovision. I have nerovision 3.1.0.16 and before that I was using a 3.0.X version. The older version was taking 14 hours to encode my dvds I created from video files where as the new version took only 2 hours! I was really impressed...until I put the dvd in my dvd player and saw that after about 5 minutes the audio goes completely out of sync with the video.

I know it is not a problem with the video files I am using as if i use the same video files on the older version of NERO it creates a perfect copy with audio and video bang on! However, as I said it takes 14 hours!! I really want to get version 3.1.0.16 working so has anyone got any ideas?

So far I hae tried:

1) Turning off smart encoding under Video Options. Still didn't work.

2) Downloaded the CD/DVD burning pack from http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm
Still didn't work.

I have also noticed that on the section where you can preview what the menu looks like and how the files will play that the video files are out of sync even before they have been encoded and put onto disc. However they play fine in Nero under the section where you can edit the videos and add chapters/effects etc.???!!!

Does anyone have any ideas or am I going to have to go back to 14 hour encoding again!!!

Nero is just not very good at encoding. You may try use VSO DivXtoDVD (free version) instead to see if things are better:

Good luck!

Cheers for the advice mate but that programme doesn't allow menu creation which I desperately need as there are multiple video files. Do you (or anyone else) know of any other programmes or a way to fix this problem with Nero?

Regarding DivXtoDVD, I think the idea is you convert to DVD-compliant files, then use Nero to create and burn the DVD...but I don't actually know, I haven't tried it yet.

It's a common problem with (at least) the later versions of Nero 6, and I find it frustrating that Ahead didn't address the problem.

Does anyone know if it's fixed in Nero 7, despite 7's other (reported) problems?

VSO (free version) doesn't create menus, but it does allow for multiple file conversion. Just keep adding before hitting 'convert'.

Good luck!

Cheers for all the help. In the end I downgraded to an early version of NEROVISION 3.0.1.18 and everything works fine. I also got the DVD and SVCD MPEG attachments so the processing remains at around 2 hours. Sorted!

Agreed! Nero is definetly great when it works. I tried using Ulead Movie Maker but I could hardly fit any video files on a dvd with NERO's compression I fitted twice as many on and the quality on my big screen TV is still superb. I just don't know why their update has created this problem surely updates are used to fix bugs not create them!!??!

After I upgraded to Nero-6.6.0.16 and NVE-3.1.0.16, I was having the same problem as described in the orignal post.

I was about to go back to old versions of these programs, but then I noticed new versions (Nero-6.6.0.18 & NVE-3.1.0.21) posted on the Nero website. http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

I'm happy to report that these versions fixed the Audio out of Sync problem for me.

Cheers!
