I just wanted to share my success in being a able to transfer a 2 sided DVD (A & B sides) to one disc (SONY 8x DVD-R). SLEEPER'S is on of my all time favorite movies starring Robert Deniro, Kevin Bacon, and a host of then up and coming stars. I purchased this movie years ago and decided to make a copy for a friend. I had totally forgotten that the disc for some reason was recorded as a two sided disc. Now here I am challenged with how to make a copy of this DVD on to 1 DVD blank media. Well after toiling around between SHRINK, DVD Decrypter, and NERO Recode2. I manged to figure this out.
I first backed up both sides of the disc to my hard drive (with DVD43 running in the backround)I then used NERO Recode2 "Remake DVD" Which allowed me to pair the two separate files together. I unlocked the compression ratio then moved on to the next screen. This combination of files did not allow for me to use the "Slow Burn" option but strangely enough with slow burn checked off as my preferred option, I then checked off "Burn-At-Once" which then allowed for the burning process to begin. I inserted as stated a SONY 8x DVD-R and the end result was a successfully burned 2 sided to one DVD burn.
Now the bad news, I have experience some very short pauses with very minor pixelation which I speculatively attribute this to the compression being unlocked and active while the two files were being compressed to one blank DVD disc media. And other than these minor few glitches in the recorded disc, it plays absolutely fine. The picture quality is excellent, not distorted or grainey. NERO is a beast. The makers of this program definitely anticipated what one could encounter while making a DVD copy and came through with great options and solutions. Well thats my story.:)
