Still another question about dvd+dl

I have read all the posts about how to make a 1:1 copy of a dvd dl to another dl disk using decrypter, and although i haven't tried it that way, it makes sense [i used to use decrypter then nero (vision express, express, and recode)and it either didn't work on anything, or only works on the burner i burnt it with].
My question is, what is the best way to burn movies that are over 4.7gb from the pc (aka .avi files etc)to a dvd+dl disk? should i use nerovision express? Just want feedback to see how other people have done it sense it is not cheap to "experiment" I of course want to be able to play the disks in all standard dvd players. I use memorex burners and disks, and i have nero 6 oem, alcohol 120, and decrypter. Thanks
