VOB ReMpeg encode network rendering idea!

Here's an Interesting suggestion: For >4.3G DVD to DVD R.

FULL RIP of the DVD to a VIDEO_TS folder and then:

Rather than using ifoedit and ReMEG to demux & rencode at a lower bitrate for ALL the VOB's at once...and then remux the final large m2v back into the VOB's, why can't I use ReMpeg to demux each VOB on individual PII's on my network and then Use ReMpeg to REmux each indivdual small m2v back into the original VOB's?!!! This would allow me to use my lowly PII systems rather than have to spring for One 1800+ Athlon.

I would end up with the same number of VOB ..but each would be smaller due to lower bitrates. Would Ifoedit be need to fix any sector pointers etc? Or can I just burn the VIDEO_TS as it stands with smaller VOB files?

Any thoughts or comments?

All the vob's together is one big movie. If you remux with a smaller m2v file, you would end up with (e.g.) 1 vob less. If you remux all the vob's individually, you will keep all the vob's, but they are smaller.
So if you can rip all the vod-id's and create a new ifo, etc. etc., I don't see a problem.

ps. Good idea, but not many people have this luxury.
