i used Nero to burn a dvd but it took me 4 hours to burn it on to a disk. most of the time it took was to transcode the file. would it be easier and faster to tanscode the files with another program then burn with Nero. If so please tell me the program, thank you.
Can you post up the very last section of your Nero log? To get your Nero log go here: C:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory -- now remember to blank/edit out your Nero serial number before posting it here alright.
What are you computer specs by a chance? I suspect there's DMA issues in regards to the 4 hours long transcoding and burning. Try to follow the below guide on how to bring DMA back on and see if you'll have a better transcoding and burning next time.

Here are some helpful pictures for references.
A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER," left click on "PROPERTIES"
B) left click on "HARDWARE," left click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
C) left click on + sign of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers
D) double left click on either ?Primary? or ?Secondary IDE Channel?
E) left click on "DRIVER," left click on "UNINSTALL" You will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system," just click "OK," now "SHUTDOWN" or "Restart" your computer
F) once you restarted your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner?s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!!
**NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "Uninstall" it from the ?DVD/CD-ROM Drives?
****at Device Manager**** (A) left click on + sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives (B) double left click on your DVD burner or your DVD-ROM drive (C) click on "DRIVER," "UNINSTALL," "OK" and then "Shutdown" or "Restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!!
