Ok people, like it or not, Sony executives have confirmed that even though the current prototype is subject to slight changes the overall shape is not likely to change. Rumors of an entirely revamped controller being presented in January 06 have just been denied. I personally dislike the boomerang design, not enough to keep me away from the PS3 if it is indeed priced within $400. But, I may end up getting a logitech controller or maybe I will end up getting used to the boomerang, who knows? Just check out the link and please express what you feel about this.

Actually I think they said before can't use older controllers and mem cards. Personally I don't mind the boomerang controller. It should be more comfortable. Plus I can use it to kill anyone who says the PS3 is horrible.

Has anybody actually had the controller in their hands and felt it. or is eveyone just judging it by the way it looks. I think that as long as the controller is comfortable it will be good.
i think that a good idea would be to add those fans in the controller handles so that your palms dont sweat all over it..
(like some of the pc controllers have)

Boomerang controller or not... the ps3 is still going to be a good console and also you guys will have to get use to the controller. I dont see nothing wrong with the controller. By the way when you playing a game and you get pissed and you want to throw your controller you dont have to worry about breaking it because it will come back to you. So there are pros to the controller.

Looks not matter."dont judge a book by its cover." Like the n64 controller, you used it and got used to it. The same with the ps3 controller. Frankly i like the way it looks. Its unique and different in the good way. And the controller is'nt even big. Its a change from previos playstation concols.

I don't know why everyone is so angry about. They changed their controller. What would it be like if they didn't???? No one would bother. They would say "Oh the same old controller again!?!?!? Ah, I'll just get the Revolution." Now they'll think "Hmmm Revolution controller looks cool and interesting. XBox 360 controller is better but PS3's one is deadly. Use it in Australia to kill some crocodiles or something." I like it. Deadly and useful.

who cares what it looks like? it seems exactly the same, just skinnier longer handles on the sides... which i'm assuming will make it easier to hold.

You can do that with the 360. I know in Japan they did that with the ps2. But they dont release in North america. Them bums. I think all the next gen concols will have that for online play. I dont find the mouse that intresting though. What sthe point o fhaving a mouse dude?!its not a computer.

Actually I remember that you could play Unreal Tournament with mouse and keyboard on the PS2. So it was possible, but developers didn't supported it. Also, I belive that it might be a plus to support mouse and keyboard, for First Person Shooters at least, because many ppl like it better than controllers. It's a matter of choice and it be cool if you could choose wether to play with keyboard/mouse or with the boomerang shaped controller.

Perhaps in time, the "controller", will also seem awkward compared to a new style of gaming interaction...

maybe its a way for sony to make more money???
they just wanted to be funky wiv the new design and they knew it wont be 2 famous but it will stand out.
so they are going to have the normal dual shock ones but a bit better and specially for the ps3 later on.
what you think?
u lot probably thinking i have "lost the plot"!!!

I think the shape of the PS3 controler is good especialy when you watch the animation of the controler at PS3scene.com.
The dislikes I have about it are the same anaolg joystics that look a bit naff on the new controler model and there is no indication lights to what controler is what (like what the 360 and revolution has).
But these problems will be ironed out when we get to see the final model in January. So I think it's good that they are keeping the shape and it's a bit harsh for people to asume just by looking at it that it's rubbish. for all you lot know the Revolution controler could be rubbish. Unitl you have it in your hand playing a game you cant pass judgment.

I saw the animation and I fell better about the controller now. Seems more confortable than the Dual Shock 2 and that's enough for me.
