Burner leaving gaps in Burned area in dvd....

Burning a movie, no prob. But after taking th Dvd out of the burner I see gaps in the burned area on the disk. It is burning a 8x. Just started showing up also. I guess one year and 700 movies later it has had it. Any feedback....If no good then it is target practice...Thanks for all the help
