I think with dual channel, as long as the pairs match compared to your motherboard manuel then they should run dual channel, genrally the two run 1-3 and 2-4 ram channels and should be different colours ... possibly.

System 1 :- Main PC: AMD XP 3200+ - OC Slightly 2.31Ghz, 1024 MB DDR PC2700, 1 x 40GB Hard Drive, 1 x 60GB Hard Drive, ATI 9600XT (256 MB)Graphics Card.
Laptop 1: 1GB DDR2 Ram, 100Gb Samsung HDD, ATI X700 128mb Graphics Card.
System 2: Downloading PC: AMD Sempron 2500+, 512 MB DDR PC2700, 1 x 40GB Hard Drive.

what should be diffrent colors the tabs? Well I know my mobo supports dual channel and the sticks of ram are alike so they usually run in 1-3 and 2-4 ram channels that what i thought well ill have to open her up and take a peak once again.

yes you were right on the fact that there was 2 different colors i have 2 blue slots and 2 brown slots or black one of those colors so i kept 1 in blue and put the other in the 3 slot which was a brown slot. but still no dual channel

install the two memory into the two blue slot. in order for the dual channel to work u have to use either 2 same sticks of memory or 4.

when i got the pc it had the two sticks of memory into the two blue slots but dual channel was not working. The sticks are exactlly the same as far as I can see they are the same. right now I have one stick in the 2nd slot and 1 stick in the 4th slot. Since none of these comboniations work is there somthing I have to enable to have it in dual?
