Good Luck!
Before talking about homebrews, backing up games and emulators, you have to buy a PSP v2.00 or BELOW. Otherwise, you are stuck.
So if you have PSP v2.01 or higher, DON'T EVEN ask about homebrews, backing up games and emulators.

If you plan to copy movies, you may want to take a look at the xplay program from http://www.downloadgamepsp.com. After a long bout of frustration with several of the free programs, I found that I was able to copy dvd movies to the psp in less than half the time with better quality using this program. There is also a good free program called psp9video, but it just takes too long imo.
Good luck,

KRollie, I am confused a bit. I went to the link and understand that I need software, but there is a sentence that states I need some homebrews, I went to that link and it had all sorts of other programs and stuff. Is homebrew a technique for backing up PSP games and movies or something totally different? To me it looks as if they may be programs that I can use to make my PSP do different things.
