I'm getting a PSP for Christmas, and I've read so many posts about people bricking their PSPs. I really don't want this to happen to mine, so I was wondering what are the ways that a PSP can get bricked, and what are the best ways to prevent it?

Bricking methods I've heard:

a) accintally unplugging ac cord during firmware update
b) downgrading
c) using an emulator
d) dropping PSP during bootup

Did you know that it is impossible to lick your elbow?

Did you just try it?

PSP for Christmas, w00t!

Right, for downgrading IT IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE and there is NO WAY TO BRICK if you do it CORRECTLY.
ALSO, ppl who run the FAKE DOWNGRADER by PSP_TEAM will be stuffed as it is apparently named ny Symantec "Trojan.PSPBrick". Now I wonder how it got that name...
The ONE AND ONLY working, safe downgrader is MPH DOWNGRADER and all it's forms (SXT like to take credit...)

It is also perfectly safe to RUN EMULATORS AND ISOs.

Just don't unplug your AC during up/downgrades and download the bricker.

I was told to change my sig so I did this.
