ok...stuff was burning just fine 2 or 3 days ago. My hd's were getting full, so I removed a couple programs, ran spybot, adaware, etc.
Now...I can NOT burn any dvd files period. Nero doesn't work. copytodvd doesn't work. Alcohol doesn't work. MagicIso doesn't work.
I've removed and reinstalled my dvd burner(sony dru500a)...checked all my drivers...what I'm guessing is Adaware (or spybot) removed some piddly stinking dll that I need, yet I have no idea how to find out what is wrong. Below is part of the error report from Alcohol...

same media that worked before won't work now...
another update...have tried 2 system restores to a time when it worked just fine...still doesn't work...
it looks like you are right and that a certain file has been deleted but a restore isnt going to be any good. You probably will need to do a clean install.Reformat the whole system and start from scratch.Make sure if you go down this path that you back up everything you want to keep.
Maybe you could do a fresh install of your burning programs to see if they reinstall correctly before you do a reformat. I would certainly try that first if you already haven't.
and, if it does not work, at least back up what you can (programs and such) before doing a reformat that way you don't have to go through the tedious process of re-downloading and installing all you other hdd info.
