I'm sorry to bother you all. I've read several times that Mr & Mrs Smith has NO protection on it, yet every time I put it in and open up DVD Decrypter it says it's RCE Protected. I get 98% of the DVD ripped when I get an error. My AnyDVD is up to date (version 5.6.1.1) and that still doesn't help. I've tried ripping it with both DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper. I've tried using JUST DVDShrink and I get a cyclic error. What on earth am I doing wrong?

a cyclic redundancy error refers to a scratched or dirty disc.It also can refer to crappy media.
What is the condition of the source disc??????

I'll be doing this one tonight. I anticipate total success with AnyDVD and Shrink. If not, I'll let you know.
Cheers.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith has no special protections whatsoever. I backed up last night using my usual method.
A) ripped the movie using DVD Decrypter via "File Mode"
B) encoded the movie with Nero Recode 2 with "Advanced Analysis"
C) burned it with Nero Burning Rom
That's it, simple as sippin' on a brew. Below is a very simple guide I made just for newbies, incase some of them got lost to what I've said above.
That's it and you're done -- this is just a piece of cake. Overall, it took me 16 minutes for DVD Decrypter + 18 minutes for Nero Recode 2 to encode + 14 minutes for Nero Burning Rom to burn (16+18+14 = 48 minutes, which I burned it at 4X to avoid getting any coasters). Now you can burn this baby with any of your desire burning engines.
*NOTE: remember when I said if you want Nero Recode to burn right away, then choose your DVD burner (look at picture below again), then Nero will automatically burn once Recode is completed with the encoding process.
Enjoyed it and happy burning..!!

Try another DVD in your PC drive and see if it recognizes it or plays it. If it doesn't I would think that there is something going on with the drive. If it does, it may be the disc's problem. Try a different one.
Cheers.

I would recommend a different disc then. See if that does not take care of the problem. If your pc will play other disc's but not that one, even though it plays on the players, there is something going on with that particular disc.

Same problem here. My computer wont recognize the disc, but recognizes other movies. My home dvd player recognizes it just fine. Any suggestions? I dont think its my particular dvd since it is happening to other people as well.

I dont know if this will help anybody or not, but my computer also would not recognize this disk. I have XP Home Edition and I was on a limited account. When I switched to an administrative account it recognized the disk.
