A friend tried to downgrade my psp and I think its bricked. No green light but when I want to upgrade to 1.5 (or even to 2.0) I get a message: low battery, please retry. I have ac adapter pluged.
anyone know if this is irreversible?

Then i gotta ask you some questions:
1. Previously is your PSP in v2.0 and you've downgraded it to v1.5?
2. Did you downgrade your PSP to v1.0 from that downgraded v1.5?

I recieved this error when I first attempted the downgrading procedure from 2.00 to 1.50. When I checked the battery status I was at 40%. I then waited and found that it worked once indicator was over 50%.
Perhaps there is a built-in safety feature regarding the device being on the mains and/or having a min of 50% battery remaining.
Cheers.

I don't know if you where aware of this. But, the Batterie inside the PSP? has to hace aprox. 75%(Or better) Charge before you can even think to Flash your PSP?. Beit up or down.
So Plug your PSP? up to the Mains, let it charge for about an Hour or Two. Then try updateing your PSP? again...

Yeah it's just a safety feature to make sure there's no power out during the writing to the chip, if it does and it's halfway thru writing to it, say goodbye to your newly bricked psp :)

Brick: (in use with Hardware), refers to the state your Device (i.e. DVD Burner, PC, Handy or PSP) after a bad attempt at flashing your said Device. The Chip's in these Devices are more-a-less the same as the one in your MS, CF, SD in that these are varies forms of Flash ROM. The main difference between say a SD with Pictures and a PSP. is that the SD with the Pictures on it IS NOT MISSION CRITICAL to the Camera itself!
Where as the File in the PSP, DVD, Cell Phone (et-al), are. If this info should be corrupted by any means direct or indirect. It will basicly kill your Device. As you can not simply remove the 'Chip' reformat it and rewrite the Firmwere (allthogh that in and of itself is not impossible!), It's just that I'm willing to bet there are not to many People here who could do so.
In anycase in the event of a bad Flash and you PSP should ~Die~ it will then become about as much fun and use as say a Brick...

The DS Boyz need to get a life! Oh well lets see where Nintiendo? will be with there handhelds in Two or Three Years Time. For now it's fairly easy to rag on the PSP?. Given that the DS can play almost any GB\GBC\GBA Game from the last Twent Years (or so),...
So yeah I guess the DS would have a better libarary then... Hell the PSP? has only been out for a whole Year or less ~in some places!!~ For the moment Nintendo really don#t need to fear much over the PSP?. But, god forbid Ken katuragi (or whoever), decides to start kicking some Dev Arse to get the Games released! Nintendo better watch there Arse!
Because the PSP? can and will pown the DS?. Nintendo should be afraide very VRERY afraide!!

Aye, has only been officially available in oz since teh 1st of sept, so i'm loving the range of games available on "launch", to compare the two really is a futile attempt, usually done by paranoid ds owners... lolz.
I mean compare anything on the ds to either burnout 3/midnight club 3, gta or socom, and to name but 4, and the ds games lack in all departments... hehe, oh so easy to bag the ds, but that's not what this thread is about....
