I JUST bought my psp and i would like to transfer a game i downloaded GTA: liberty city stories onto it, trouble is..... it wasnt as easy as one woudl think, ive read all the post but i dont think i have a clear enough understanding on it. can someone PLEASE help me. my psp version is 2.00 according to what it says under my system software icon. if possible since i am a virgin can u provide a setp by step process on doing this without "bricking" my psp? ( i dotn even know what that means and its scary)
Dude, your at a bit of a crux there, you have a 2.0, which can easily be downgraded to 1.5 (the only version that runs unsigned code basic definition, and i mean very basic lol) but the game you just bought will only work on 2.0 firmware. Say hello to Sony's anti piracy methods lol. Give it a few more months and you'll prolly be abe to run umdemulator from the 2.0 FW, but at the mo, nothing. This is the exact reason i don't own this game, why wait for the umd to load when a 2GB high speed duo 2 can load stuff in less than a 1/4 of the time (prolly a lot less than that).
If you still want to downgrade to 1.5, let us know, but then you're only going to have to upgrade it back to 2.0 everytime you play.
Which brings me onto WAB changer, anyone got any info on what this actually does? Cheers.
Yeah, they rewrote the firmware, and there is actually a codec introduced uniquely to the 2.0 firmware which GTA requires to run. But that said, checked yesterday, and they have detroit hustle streets working with the firmware 1.5 (previously only 2.0) using a file from a 1.5 game, tiny bit of work involved, but trust me man, they're getting closer everyday, these people are scary smart.
GTA is the stickler tho.
LOL, no not screwed this time... You can actually run that off the 2.0 firmware using Fanjita's 0.8.5 loader. I've been drinking a lot today lol, so i'll provide you with some d/l links and once you have all the appropraite s/ware d/led post back here and i'll guide you through it.
Shit man, tried to get this to work on dad's 2.0 and it just hangs everytime i've tried going to boot the loader, i had 0.8 working on mine before i downgraded to 1.5 and it worked a charm. Sorry man, gonna have to link you to a guide on getting the loader to run, why it's not working on dad's is really shitting me, have a custom b/g etc.. :/
