simple solution - dont turn the 360 while its on, it even says it in the manual
and if u r afraid of tipping it over just leave it in the laying down position
god ppl use your head, since u know of the problem dont be stupid and flip it over and then be like omg f*** MS. Its like i know if i put my finger in an electrical socket ill get shocked so lemme do it anyway.

heh i know what u mean but its not like they can do anything now that the consoles are in your house.
Im sure it will be fixed in the future, but as with all new consoles u buy them early with the risk that their might be some bugs. And since its easily avoidable now that u know about it, i dont see it as much of a problem, just be careful

In my opinion, there is nothing to fix. I've seen the video floating around the internet showing someone insert a disc, start it and then tilt the case while it's playing: out comes scratched disc.
Saying that the Xbox 360 stratches discs because of this isn't correct to say. Although the majority of DVD players are designed not to be tilted 90 degrees, it still should be common knowledge you don't go picking one up and moving it around while it plays, especially carousel and mega-changers.

Yes it is only common sense to know that moving a machine that is reading a disc will damage them and also if it is such a problem then as one of you said before lay the thing down. OMG!
It's Here!!!

mines just scrached my pgr3. My friend touched mine with his toe and the console (it was vertical) tilted through less than one degree, five minutes later my xbox is telling me to check the region of thegame and 360 match. I was unaware there was a problem and didn't do this as a test. I haven't seen the video you guys are talking about, but my disc has been engraved with a perfect circle about 1mm from the edge. I'm not havin a go at ms (although it does seem to be one thing after another) merely warnin fellow gamers that it takes MINIMAL CONTACT to destroy a game! peace out!

MS should make a type of stand for the system like the Ps2 did.
Sony PS2 (Playstation 2) Slimline (V12) GH-035-71
Sony Playstion 2 Region: NTSC (North America - USA and Canada)
DVD-/+R: Verbatim DVD-/+R 1x-8x 4.7GB MCC and PRO-DATA DVD-R 4x 4.7GB
DMS4 Lite Modchip + ToxicBIOS Ver. 1.3 + Possible Fix
Dual Shock Controller
Dual Shock 2 Controller
8MD Memory Card
Burner: Sony DVD RW DW-D26A
Software: DVDDecrypter, Nero, and Alcohol 120%

Actually there is a stand for the 360 its the
Pelican Product - 360 Fan Stand. It's meant for cooling but it also makes the console less wobly. Heres a picture:

yea its not expensive also, only 19.99 USD
http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEFuEuyZyyXvcDUNja.php
Quote: For a mere $19.99 you can purchase Pelican's Xbox 360 Fan Stand, which promises to "extend the life of the system's hardware by operating at cooler temperatures." The problem is, last we checked, it wasn't the 360 unit itself that has an overheating problem. I guess there nothing stopping you from putting your PSU on this stand, or just stick with the homemade version.
On the other hand, it should also give your 360 "added stability when standing," which should help with the disc scratching problem, should a bump occur.
