Ive had my psp for a week now and have been reading tons of threads on how to backup games and have some ? I have a psp with firmware 2.00, what do I need to do to backup games and with all the memory needed is it even worth it? Those 1 and 2 gig memory sticks can be pretty costly. I also saw somthing called PSPXplay, does anyone know what this is or have any experience with it. I would like to be able to play some japan games and that xplay says you can also play mariocart with it. How is this possible? And how do you back up a game that you dont have such as a title from Japan. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah matey, for sure it's worth it, once you've backed up your owned umd, and turned t into a iso with umdgen for example, there's no reason the games can't stay on your pc hdd, ready to be copied over whenever you want. Get a 2gb, they can be had for around $100US if you buy from an online store off ebay eg. and means less waiting for files to copy over.

edit you need to downgrade to 1.5 fw first, then grab loader 0.7, throw the umd in, rip it to the mem stick, then copy to yuor pc, run that dumped file through umdgen then throw it back on your mem stick and use umdemulator to run the iso. google the names i've mentioned or look for links, in here, i gotta go out

its called homebrew, and it's on FW1.50 and below only.

Downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5.

DO NOT upgrade any higher from 2.00 or youwill lose the chance for homebrew.
