I also have 512k broadband and I am with Tiscali. So when I use LimeWire PRO I reach about 75kb but first when I used Azureus I used to get slow speeds but now I get high speeds because you need a lot of seeds. For more help go onto my thread which is titled Azuresu, all the information is there.Or if that is no help go onto the search bar at the top of the screen and search for what you want.

Hey ,

Firstly have you changed the port numbers in Azureus ? if not use something over 50.000

Do you have a router ? if so you need to forward the ports help can be found here http://www.portforward.com

Once you have changed the ports you need to allow them in your firewall

Are you using a public site like the pirate bay or a private tracker ?

celticfc1 you seem to be the guy to ask - I've got Azureus 2.2.0.2 and my configuration is as follows:

1meg NTL cable broadband.
Upload truspeed measured at 120kiloBit/s or 15kiloByte/s.
Motorola WR850g wireless router with 1 port (TCP & UDP) in the 50-60,000's forwarded to my laptop with a static IP set.
Windows XP SP2 firewall enabled but with both Azureus.exe and the TCP&UDP protocols of the above port listed as exceptions.

Azureus upload settings:
12kB/s max upload speed
0kB/s max download speed
96 max no connections per torrent
96 max no of connections globally
1 max simultaneous downloads
1 max active torrents
(all the Azureus settings were obtained from entering my measured upload truspeed in the following site: http://infinite-source.de/az/az-calc.html)

I have no discernable problems with Azureus, green smilies, no NAT or tracker errors, etc.

When downloading popular, heavily seeded torrents my speeds average around 40, peaking around 60 and troughing around 20 once the download has had time to settle.

My question is I have regularly read of people achieving speeds of 100+, is this possible with my current set-up? Is there anything I could be missing that would boost my downloads further?

Thanks very much
