is it true that PLasma is shit because of the burn in effect and thats why Sony stopped making it? what so good about a plasma anyways there are more negatives than positives such as the burn in effect.

a big positive is they are cheap! I don't think they have as bigg of a burn in problem as they used to. I mean if you look at all these newer air ports or old ones that they are up gradeing, they use the plasma TV's and they will leave flight info on their for a few hours if not a day.

No burn-in isn't a big issue. An no Sony didn't stop making plasmas because they suck. Sony stopped making plasma tvs because they are bring a new technology to the market soon that will replace plasma.

Also, Sony decided to start making a XBR line of LCD screens which are so indemand that it would be impossible to crank out enough LCDs and Plasmas to make a profit.

What new technology you ask; FED!

How do figure plasma are cheap. Their cheap if you have loads of money. I can't find a brand name 42" plasma for under 3K, while I can
find 50 to 60" DLP for under 3K. 42" no name brands are 2 to 2.5K canadian.

What do you call brand names? Panasonic, Toshiba, and Samsung all have 42" HD plasma screens for under 3K. Plasma sets in the 42" and up size are typically cheaper than a an LCD at the same size.

I would like it if people stopped comparing apples to oranges. Its not acurate to compare a Flat-Panel to a Projection based display especially when you have a bias against Plasma.

What I mean is, if you have the space to fit a projection display and it is possible to control the light in the room then a projection would seem better. If a person didn't have the space for a projection (or simply find flat panels to be sexxier) then the added cost would be balanced out by how much they want the tv.
