first off i have read the other threads..i have tried princo,taiyo,and maxell. all my backups are loading during the race and causing my car to get reset. my maxell was+r should i try -r?the same backup that skips on my ps2 plays fine on my brothers.im using swap magic 3.6 ps2 v9 fliptop..any ideas?thanks in advance...

What version is your brothers ps2?

You could try DVD-R, or try booktyping the DVD+R to see if that makes a difference on your ps2.

i tried rebuilding using iso buster and it only made it a lil smaller.my brothers ps2 is v4.i used maxell -r and it loads during the race but not as long.thanks.

How did you burn the game? Maxell are supposed to be ok for games, but what speeds does it support, is it max 8x? if so then burn it at 4x using dvd decrypter or nero.
Also, when burning turn almost everything off including the internet and virus scanner etc before you burn..and leave it alone to burn.
It could still be the media maybe... I think the v7 and later have better lasers so wouldn't matter as much about the media... you could try getting a small pack of ritek, taiyo yudens or verbatim and see if that's any better.

[edit] whoops, I just saw that you said you tried taio yudens... was it really taiyo yudens though or maybe fakes? did you check the media code?
