This is a step by step solution i used.
1. Borowed the game from a friend
2. Copied it with Nero and burned it on 2.4x
3. And i played it using DVD LOADER (U guys remember this disc?) and swap magic 2.0.
So as u can see, u can use swap magic 2.0 to play this game. Oh yeah and if u dont remember DVD LOADER, its the disc that you had to use to play the first True Crimes so i thought why not give it a try with the new True Crime and it worked. Trust me people this works. Theres no need for rebuilding or none of dat stuff.

Than you should burn on dvd. Than do a extra swap from swap magci

I have swap magic 2.0, used dvd decryptor to burn at 1x and no problems- game works fine

How did u do it iv done a backup of the game used swap magic 2.0 and the game starts then goes to the insert ps2 disc screen with and without dvd loader.
Also when using dvd decryptor i put the burn speed at 1x but when burning i get up to 4x is this right???

might also depend on which version ps2 you have. older versions have less copy protection checks.

burnt at 1x with DVD Decrypter and it still gets to the guy punching the screen the says please insert ps2 or playstation compatible disc

I'm having backup problems with the True Crime games too. I used DVD Decrypter to backup and to burn about 3 coasters on Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R burnt at 4X speed. When trying to play the backups, after swapmagic 3.3 swap out, I get the red screen of death and the invalid disk format message. I tried to rebuild the True Crime New York City using IsoBuster, CDVDgenerator, and IML2ISO. I managed to make another Red death coaster.
All suggestions considered.
BTW - True Crimes LA didn't work either.

it burned fine for me with swap magic 3.6 using Decrypter and then burning at 4x with Nero, BTW I have a version 7 scph-39001 with a flip top.
